Who we are

Growth for Dealers (also operating as CARFAQ) builds and runs inventory photography, websites, tracking, paid traffic and lead automation for independent used-car dealers. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means Growth for Dealers. You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@carfaq.com.

What we collect

When you fill in a form on this site

The teardown form asks for four things, and all four are required: your name, your dealership name, your email address and your phone number. The lead-leak scorecard asks for the same four at the end.

The form saves what you have typed before you press the button. We built it that way so a dropped connection or a closed tab does not cost you the work of filling it in again — but it means that if you type your email and then change your mind and leave, we may already hold what you typed. It is treated exactly like a submitted form: same storage, same retention, same deletion on request. It is never passed to advertising or analytics tools. If you would rather we did not have it, email us and we will delete it.

When you fill in a form inside Facebook or Instagram

Our ads use Meta’s instant forms, which open inside the app rather than on this site. That form asks for your full name, phone number, email address, store name, the number of vehicles you sell in a month, and the time you would like us to call.

Meta collects those answers on our behalf and passes them to us. What Meta does with your data on its own account is governed by Meta’s privacy policy, not this one.

Automatically, when you browse

Like most sites, ours records technical information as you use it: the pages you open, the site or ad that sent you, an anonymous session identifier that lasts until you close the tab, your time zone, and standard device and browser details. We also read the advertising cookies Meta sets in your browser (_fbp and _fbc) so that a form submission can be matched to the ad it came from.

Information about your store, from public sources

The free teardown is an audit of things that are already public: your listings, your website, your marketplace feeds and the ads you are running where they can be seen. We may look at those before you ever contact us, and we may hold notes about a dealership as a result. This is business information about a company, not personal information about you — but it is fair for you to know we do it, and you can ask us to delete our notes on your store the same way you can ask us to delete anything else.

Why we use it

There are only two reasons:

• To send you the teardown you asked for, and to talk to you about it.
• To confirm and keep the appointment time you chose, if you chose one.

That is the whole list. We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or swap lists with anybody. We do not add you to an unrelated newsletter because you asked for a teardown.

Calls and text messages

When you give us your phone number on a form, you are agreeing that we may contact you at that number about your teardown, including by text message. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or tell us on a call and we will note it. Asking us to stop texting does not delete your information — email us if you want both.

Who else sees it

We keep the list of companies that touch your information as short as we can. Today it is:

• Base44 — hosts the database and the form backend where your submission is stored. Everything is sent over an encrypted connection.
• Google — Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads measure how the site and the ads perform. These receive the fact that a form was submitted and the technical details above. They are not sent your name, email or phone number.
• Meta Platforms — receives the fact that a form was submitted, through both the browser pixel and a server-to-server event. So that Meta can match the submission to the ad you clicked, that server-side event can include your email address and phone number, which Meta’s API requires to be hashed rather than sent in the clear.
• Email and scheduling tools — whatever we use to actually write to you and hold the appointment.

We will also hand over information if the law genuinely requires it. We will not hand it over because somebody asked nicely.

Where your information lives

We work across borders, and the people and services that handle your information are not all in the same country as you. If you submit a form, your information may be stored or processed outside the United States. We have not certified that arrangement under any particular framework, and this page does not claim otherwise — we are telling you plainly so you can decide whether to send it.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we are working with you, or talking about working with you, plus the time it takes to close the books on that conversation. If you go quiet and nothing comes of it, we do not hold onto your details indefinitely to re-market at you later.

You can cut that short at any time. Email hello@carfaq.com and ask us to delete what we hold about you, and we will do it and confirm within 30 days. You do not have to give a reason, and asking does not require you to have been a customer.

What you can ask us for

Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can email us and ask to:

• see what we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it is wrong;
• have it deleted;
• stop hearing from us, by email, by phone, or both.

We answer those requests because they are reasonable, not because a particular statute forces us to. If the law where you live gives you stronger rights than the ones above, those rights still apply to you and we will honour them — write to us and say so.

Cookies and measurement

This site uses cookies and similar storage for two jobs: remembering what you were doing (the anonymous session identifier, and the partly-filled form described above) and measuring advertising (the Google and Meta tools listed above). Your browser can block or delete all of them, and the site will still work — the form still submits, and the teardown still arrives.

Children

This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we send it to, we will change this page and move the date at the top. We will not quietly broaden what we do with information you already gave us.
